Out-of-state merit scholarships for a 1250 SAT
Out-of-state students with an SAT score of 1250 meet the published SAT threshold at 78 colleges in our verified dataset, counting only awards open to students from outside the college's state. 26 of those colleges guarantee the award automatically for students who meet the full published criteria; 52 automatically consider students, with amounts that are not guaranteed. All figures come from the colleges' own published pages, verified 2026-11-02.
Guaranteed automatic awards
Each award below is labelled guaranteed automatic because the college's own page explicitly says the award is automatic for students who meet the published criteria. Amounts are exact published figures. The award shown is the top published award at this college that the band on this page reaches — its remaining conditions (GPA, residency, deadlines) are on its row.

Common questions
How many colleges guarantee out-of-state merit money at a 1250 SAT?
26 colleges guarantee an award automatically to out-of-state students at an SAT of 1250, when the student also meets the award's other published conditions. 52 more consider out-of-state students automatically, with amounts that are not guaranteed.
Why do out-of-state awards differ from in-state awards?
Many colleges publish separate grids by residency, and out-of-state grids are often the most generous because they offset higher nonresident tuition. This page counts only awards whose published residency includes out-of-state students.
Where do these amounts come from?
Every figure is taken from the college's own published merit page and was verified on 2026-11-02. Always confirm on the official source before applying.

How to read this page: figures come only from the college's own published pages. Class A = guaranteed automatic (the college publishes the promise). Class B = automatic consideration — amount not guaranteed. Every figure links to its official source with a verification date. Full methodology →
